Welcome to Astitch4u, Bournemouth

We are a group of friendly, like-minded stitchers of all levels from in and around Bournemouth. Interested in all types of textile and needle work, we welcome new members.


During the meetings we may work on our own projects or have tutor-led workshops (see 2025 programme below), where we explore new ideas, skills and techniques.

We welcome new members 


  • We meet every 4th Friday of the month from 10.00 - 14.30 at the MS Centre Dorset, Church Lane, West Parley, Ferndown, BH22 8TS
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits are available
  • Please bring your own lunch

April 25th meeting

Members continued to work on their butterfly creation and other pieces of unfinished work  (see photos below). 


May 23rd meeting: Button/Bead trees

This project encompasses free style hand embroidery using buttons/beads (display beads; old or new; sentimental or surplace supply; any colour and size). Examples are in the photos below. You need to think about a colour scheme, whch includes the background and variety of beads/buttons.

Requirements

  • buttons and beads, a dozen or more depending on design
  • piece of medium weight material
  • Threads (heavier threads for larger work, embroidery threads for smaller work)
  • suitable size needles for your thread
  • embroidery scissors and hoop



Raffle prizes: these are always welcome for the raffle we run each month. Tickets are £1.00 each.
